Many people in Burlington who end up in drug rehab are dual diagnosis clients with co-occurring mental and substance abuse problems. Surprisingly, as many as 1/3 of those who struggle with mental health issues in Burlington also take part in substance abuse at some time in their lives. These dual diagnosis clients frequently turn to alcohol or drugs to self medicate in an attempt to alleviate the symptoms of an underlying psychological condition.
