Many people in Dunlo who end up in drug rehab are dual diagnosis clients with co-occurring mental and substance abuse problems. In fact, as many as 1/3 of those who struggle with mental health issues in Dunlo also become involved in substance abuse at some point in their lives. These dual diagnosis clients often turn to drugs or alcohol to self medicate as a way to relieve the symptoms of an underlying psychological condition. Some addicted individuals aren't even diagnosed with a disorder, and only when they begin to receive treatment at a drug rehab center is this sort of psychological condition brought to light. This in itself can sometimes help resolve addiction issues and put the person in a position to receive treatment for both conditions so that they have a strong chance of remaining abstinent and psychologically healthy in the future.
