Many addicted individuals in La Crosse who end up in drug rehab are dual diagnosis clients with co-occurring mental and substance abuse problems. In fact, as many as 1/3 of those who struggle with mental health issues in La Crosse also become involved in substance abuse at some point in their lives. These dual diagnosis clients typically turn to alcohol or drugs to self medicate in an attempt to alleviate the symptoms of an underlying psychological condition.
