The Different Norco Side Effects To Be Aware Of

The following list of Norco side effects are intended to help you identify if there may indeed be a problem with either you or somebody you know taking this particular drug over a prolonged period of time. It is normal for a drug to give people some side effects with these adverse reactions ranging from those that are relatively mild to others that are more severe and require medical attention immediately. To make it easier to identify those that will require a doctor they have been split up into two categories according to whether or not they are mild or rarer side effects.

Prior to discussing these side effects it is always a good idea to quickly recap as to what Norco is a brand name for a drug that contains two key drugs with these being Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone. The Hydrocodone is a strong painkiller that is classed as being an opioid and Acetaminophen is a less powerful painkiller, but it does work well with the Hydrocodone and actually enhances its effectiveness. This particular drug is often given to people that are suffering from moderate to severe pain and it is possible to become addicted to the drug.

Mild Norco side effects.

With regard to the mild Norco side effects it should be pointed out that they will tend to ease themselves over time as the body adjusts to having the drugs in the system. These mild reactions do not have to mean that there is an allergy and medical help is only required when they appear to worsen over several days or if they persist for a longer period of time.

The mild side effects include: suffering from ringing in your ears, having a dry mouth repeatedly, problems with your vision, but in particular blurred vision, suffering from mood changes, suffering from a headache after taking it, feeling drowsy, dizzy, having anxiety after it, a mild upset stomach, nausea, vomiting, and finally being constipated. You may only suffer from one of these side effects or several at the one time, but just see if they do get worse or if they persist for any length of time before deciding if you need to see a doctor.

Rarer, but more severe Norco side effects.

If you either personally suffer from any of these more severe Norco side effects or if you know somebody taking the drug and you spot any of the following signs, then do get medical help immediately as failure to do so may result in more long-term health problems and in some cases it could be fatal.

The severe side effects include: your breathing becoming shallow, your heartbeat becoming slower, fainting or feeling light headed for an extended period of time, suffering from seizures, being confused, fearful, or having unusual thoughts or even acting in an unusual way, having difficulty urinating, having dark urine or different colored stools, continual nausea, severe upper stomach pain, loss of appetite, and finally the skin and white of the eyes becoming yellow indicating a problem with the liver. On top of all of this there are some people that may have an allergic reaction so if there are severe breathing problems, hives, or swelling around the mouth, lips, and tongue, then get medical help immediately as this is a severe reaction that could lead to all kinds of complications if not treated.

Norco and being pregnant.

If you are pregnant, or if you are breastfeeding, then you are advised to stop taking Norco immediately as there may be a risk of it harming either your newborn child or your unborn child. Both of the main drugs contained within Norco are known to be passed through breast milk and your child may develop a dependency on the drug leading to them suffering from withdrawal symptoms later on.

Norco should also not be taken if you suffer from any stomach complaints or have any pre-existing breathing problems as well as any history of any kind of kidney or liver problems. If you do have any of these health conditions, then you may be at an increased risk of developing some of the side effects if you continue to use the drug.

Those are the various Norco side effects that you need to be aware of should you be taking the medication for any length of time. As was stated at the beginning, you will not require medical help for the mild side effects unless they persist, but if you have any concerns, then do get help immediately to stop any further problems from developing.
