Many people in Pana who find their way to drug rehab are dual diagnosis clients with co-occurring mental and substance abuse problems. In fact, as many as 1/3 of those who struggle with mental health issues in Pana also become involved in substance abuse at some point in their lives. These dual diagnosis clients often turn to drugs or alcohol to self medicate in an attempt to ease the symptoms of an underlying psychiatric issue. Some addicted individuals aren't even diagnosed with a disorder, and only when they begin to receive treatment at a drug rehab facility is this sort of issue discovered. This in itself can sometimes help resolve addiction issues and put the individual in a position to get treatment for both conditions so that they have a strong chance of remaining clean and sober and psychologically stable in the future.
