Many people in Plainview who end up in drug rehab are dual diagnosis clients with co-occurring mental and substance abuse problems. In fact, as many as 1/3 of those who suffer with mental health issues in Plainview also take part in substance abuse at some point in their lives. These dual diagnosis clients often turn to alcohol or drugs to self medicate in an attempt to relieve the symptoms of an underlying psychological disorder. Some treatment clients aren't even diagnosed with a psychological condition, and only when they make it to a drug rehab facility is this sort of psychological condition discovered. This alone can sometimes help resolve addiction issues and put the individual in a position to get rehabilitation for both disorders so that they have a good chance of remaining clean and sober and mentally stable in the future.
