It is reasonably common for persons with HIV/AIDS in UNA to end up at a drug rehab facility. Men and women who use drugs frequently put themselves in circumstances which predispose them to such diseases, either by being involved in risky sexual behavior or through the use of shared needles which is used to intravenously inject their drug of choice. Like any other treatment client, those in UNA with HIV/Aids deserve the highest level and quality of care while in drug rehab. It is important that people with HIV/Aids have the best medical support at their disposal while detoxing and during the time period of their drug treatment experience. Treatment professionals also recognize that there can be many emotional and psychological challenges during drug rehabilitation which are unique to people with HIV/Aids, and there are many drug treatment programs offered in UNA which have the ability to cater to the particular needs of those with HIV/Aids.
