People in GA. with DUI/DWI are often court ordered to attend a drug and alcohol rehab program, usually when they are first time offenders and in lieu of other stiff penalties. Even though being convicted of a DUI/DWI in Georgia usually comes with large fines and even jail time in some instances, the criminal justice system is occasionally more prone to help rehabilitate the person instead of penalizing them.
